About the Cochrane Red Rock Running Club
Named after the red shale paths in the town of Cochrane, the club was formed in 2001 as a social running group. Although primarily a social running group, some members race over all distances from indoor track 1,000 meter races up to ultramarathons and 24 hour trail races like the death race. Most members however are non-competitive and happy to just run 8 to 12km on the paths around Cochrane.
We welcome members of all ages and abilities to enjoy the sport of running. We promote both social and competitive running while taking advantage of the great outdoors offered in and around Cochrane. We use our passion for running to build friendships, provide encouragement, and improve ourselves.
Every year in the spring we put on a Run To Footstock clinic to prepare beginners for the Footstock races.
The unofficial history of the club is a work in progress.
